COMMITTEES YOU CAN SERVE ON

Bylaws:

Insures state chapter bylaws correlate with ASHRM’s bylaws and formulates revisions as needed.

Education:

Promotes professional development for society members and provides educational programs/speakers centered on timely issues.

Legislative:

Monitors current legislative issues and reports the pertinent information to the membership.

Membership:

Strives to increase new constituency and retain members in order to maintain a strong, effective society. It also surveys current members to determine their needs and stimulate participation.

Nominating:

This committee is responsible for creating the slate of candidates for the annual election. Nominees will include President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and Board Members.

Education Committee Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborating to identify relevant and timely topics for webinars, workshops, and other educational events
• Securing knowledgeable speakers and coordinating event logistics
• Helping to plan and support at least 4-6 educational offerings annually both virtual and in-person
• Promoting programs to increase member engagement and participation

Estimated Time Commitment:

• Approximately 1–2 hours per month, with additional time as needed when events are approaching
• Monthly virtual committee meetings
